Dear All,

 Today, there are two very pressing problems confronting parents and teachers. The first one pertains to the quality of the time that adults give to youngsters. In fact, before we talk about the quality of the time we give to our sons and daughters, let’s ask ourselves the question, “Are we giving enough time to our children or students?”

Aren’t we too engrossed in the business of earning an opulent living thereby finding hardly any time for the youngsters – very intelligent, dynamic and blessed with opportunities and exposure necessary for growth, but also too distracted, tempted and confused because of them?

            Then we come to the question of the quality of the time we give to our youngsters, if we are giving any. Aren’t we complaining too much that while trying to meet targets in our ‘occupational’ realms, we become too exhausted to deal with our children with patience, love and understanding, which are the birthright of every girl and boy? Let’s ponder over this issue. Team DPS Agra is committed to give quality time to “our sons and daughters”. Let the team renew its pledge afresh.

            The second challenge before us is the fact that “Today’s children do not, unfortunately, have enough role-models to emulate.”

Even the media, at times , forgetting its responsibility , goes overboard  in its desire to win  a few more TRP points , keeps on harping on ‘negativity’ in the name of 'reality' without bothering to ponder over the issue as to how much of the so called reality can be maturely and judiciously ‘digested’ and ‘assimilated’ by young minds .

Therefore remembering the universal adage, “Children need models not critics”, the senior sons and daughters of the school and the teaching fraternity of DPS Agra promise to “be the change we want to see in others” and to be the role-models, as friends, philosophers and guides, to bring about the desired changes in the society and nation through our great and growing institution.
